Entertainment can prove to be very effective in showing us a utopian desire gone wrong. I could personally relate to many of these examples mentioned. I’ve often find myself trying harder than I should to get through my education in order for me to be secure with a good job and a satisfying life in the future that I could be content with in the future, almost to the point of insanity. I also often find refuge in my day dreams, being in the world I’ve made for myself and with imaginary people I call my friends to escape reality and responsibility. At the end of the day, while we shouldn’t give up on trying to improve our conditions, we should always consider what would happen if give too much of an effort to do so. Hopefully, movies and TVs like these would give us an idea to be careful as we progress into the future.
